Luanne Hebner Perez

Artist's Statement

I believe
having pictures on walls finishes each room, especially if you love to look closely at the images, as I do. These paintings - of places of significance, beautifully produced with appealing colors - stir the pride of owning an original work of art.

I paint
familiar locales that people recognize whether close by, places remembered or sites they may wish visit one day. I most love painting landscapes and choose watercolors because of their clean look, the way the color blends and the vibrancy of the hues.

My style
is straightforward; it has been called "representational", which I take to mean that you will recognize what it is I have painted. I use warm colors with strong notes of pure pigment. I know when my work is complete because I say "yes" to my own question, "Does this picture have a real sense of place?"

I hope
my work pleases you enough to say, "I just love this painting. I am so glad it's mine!"

"This is the Place" watercolor by Luanne Hebner Perez.

Luanne Hebner Perez's collection of original watercolor paintings in "A Sense of Place" was exhibited in her first Solo Show at the Harbor Village Gallery, Ventura, California. The invitational Pre Sale was held September 7 and the Meet the Artist Reception was September 8, 2010. The Show ran from September 8 to October 10, 2010.

With the heart of a true local, Perez captured the views of Ventura County and brought them to life. Her images are reminders of what a blessing and inspiration is this beautiful part of California. She also enjoys traveling across America and to Europe, filling her artistic soul with inspirations that capture her and her admirers.

She paints in warm, vivid watercolors, representational in style, with each painting giving you a "sense of place" making one fall-in-love once again with these appealing landscapes. Watercolors best express her original artistic desires with their quick drying and smooth textures.
